Raspy-voiced classic rock icon Rod Stewart is still living the rockstar lifestyle, but isnât frightened that his hard-partying days are going to catch up with him despite being aware that his âdays are numbered.â
The 79-year-old âMaggie Mayâ singer recently sat down for an interview with The Sun, where he said, âIâm aware my days are numbered, but Iâve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.â
Stewart admittedly takes more preventative measures now than he did in his younger years. âNowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show. The older you get, the more you have to do that. Water has a hell of a lot to do with it. But no, you think I just have water on my rider?â

Despite that, Rod Stewart is still Rod Stewart. âYouâre talking to Rod Stewart here, mate,â the London-born rocker added. âWe go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians, and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.â
The âDo Ya think Iâm Sexyâ singer is set to tour, playing 16 different concerts in 5 different countries in 2024-2025. In terms of what heâll be doing after that tour, Stewart isnât sure.
âI am just enjoying the moment,â Stewart added. âI will continue to do so. Iâm pretty sure if I said I wanted to come back [to the United Kingdom] they would have me but there is plenty of time for that. I absolutely love the place.â
Stewart also touched upon his marriage with Penny Lancaster, to whom heâs been married since 2007.
âI am an old romantic,â Stewart said. âWe enjoy candle-lit dinners and we are still very much in love with each other. My top tips to keep the romance alive is being honest with each other and talking things through. That, and donât have an argument just before you go to bed after loads of wine. Penny is amazing. A great, great lady.â
